Pixel pet · $MUSHROOM on Solana
Mushroom is a tiny pixel creature that lives on your Mac or PC. It can tell when you are actually at the desk, so it nudges you to drink, move and rest your eyes at the moments that help, and stays quiet when they would not. It is the one desktop pet that comes with its own coin: hold $MUSHROOM and the app is yours, forever.
Made for people who sit at a computer for hours. Developers, designers, writers, students, traders, anyone whose focus is the problem and the job at the same time.
Try free for 7 days. After that, 250,000 $MUSHROOM once and it is yours for good. Mac and Windows, 5 devices, no account, no invoice.
The good bits
no more eye remindersjust works.
remind me in 2 hours to call Tom
what's in my stash?
What it actually is
It is an app for Mac and Windows. It puts a pixel mushroom in the corner of your screen, and that mushroom keeps an eye on how long you have been sitting there.
A timer app fires at 3pm whether you are there or not, so you learn to dismiss it. Mushroom reads how long it has been since you last touched the keyboard. Sixty minutes at the desk earns a nudge. Sixty minutes away earns nothing, because you already took the break.
Muting a notification costs you nothing, which is why everyone eventually does it. A small creature you like having around is harder to tune out than a banner. You notice it perk up after a glass of water, and you notice when it has been a while. It never scolds, so there is nothing to dread and no reason to switch it off.
Your reminders, notes, chats and stats live in one file on your own Mac. Even the conversation runs on a language model on the machine itself. There is no account to make and no server holding your day. The few features that need the internet, like weather or Friends, stay off until you switch them on.
A missed day costs you nothing, there is no red week, and nothing dies if you ignore it. A rough fortnight gets you a slightly droopy mushroom and a button that says you are fine. The app is built that way at the level of the rules it runs on, so there is no setting to find and nothing to opt out of.
That is the whole interface until it has something to say.
It watches the clock so you don't
Six small nudges, timed around what you are actually doing, not a dumb timer shouting at an empty chair.
A glass every hour, and it counts the ones you actually drank.
After an hour at the desk. Time away resets it, so it never double asks.
A quiet reminder that lunch was five hours ago.
Twenty seconds, twenty feet away, every twenty minutes.
A nudge at your cutoff, then silence until morning.
One tap. No journal, no questionnaire, no advice.
Every nudge offers Done, Snooze and Skip. Skip is an honest answer and costs you nothing.
It keeps learning
Four of the things it picked up after 1.0. All of them free to everyone who already bought.
A quiet week is never painted red. Nothing here is taken away for missing a day.
Say "remind me in 2 hours to call Tom" and it just works. Ask "when is my next appointment?" and it tells you. The model runs on your Mac, so the conversation stays there too.
Forty five quiet minutes. It holds every nudge until you are done, then picks up where it left off.
What you actually did this week, in one panel. Gentle by design: a quiet week is never painted red.
The pixel mushroom, or a sphere of sparkling water that sloshes when you drag it. For desks where you would rather keep it low-key.
Links, notes and files you throw at the pet, kept in one place and synced to your phone.
How it is built
Nothing here punishes you. There is no death, no penalty for a missed day, no red for a bad week. Ignore your mushroom for a fortnight and it droops slightly, and one click puts it right. A hard month should not be a thing your software has an opinion about.
Everything lives in one file on your Mac. No account, no telemetry, no analytics inside the app. The chat uses Apple Intelligence, or a model you download once, and either way the words never go anywhere, unless you choose to point chat at a server of your own instead, which is off unless you turn it on. The two features that send things through a server, messages to friends and files you share, encrypt them before they leave, are deleted from it afterwards (messages after 30 days, files after 24 hours), and can be pointed at a server you run yourself.
It never asks for Accessibility or Input Monitoring, because it never sees your keystrokes. It reads one number the system already keeps: how long since you last touched anything. No Dock icon, no background nonsense. On the Mac, with Quiet during calls on, a call holds its nudges and counts as time at the desk, not as a break.
Mushroom is built by one developer, with one advisor along the way. That is why the changelog is long and the roadmap is honest, and why an email to @mushroom on X hello@mushroom.rest reaches the person who wrote the code.
Before you decide

Since 1.0, to everyone holding the license amount. Nothing to re-buy when the app gets better.
250,000 $MUSHROOM covers five machines: Macs and Windows PCs together, on one wallet you already own.
Every purchase in the app goes back into buying $MUSHROOM and burning it, on chain, in a wallet anyone can watch.
$MUSHROOM · Solana · Coming soon
Mushroom reads how long you have been at the desk, and it has been doing that job quietly for years. $MUSHROOM is how that work gets paid from now on: wallet to wallet on Solana, settled in under a second, for less than a cent. No card, no invoice, nobody sitting between your desk and your money.
Hold 250,000 $MUSHROOM and Mushroom Pro unlocks for good: every skin, every theme, every version we ever ship. No license key to type and nothing to renew. The app reads the wallet you point it at, on your machine, and stays unlocked for as long as the balance is there. It is the license itself, held as a coin you can sell back.
Mushroom ships an x402 endpoint, so an AI agent can pay it per request. Claude Code or Codex can spend a fraction of a cent in $MUSHROOM to book a focus block, schedule a nudge, or pull the day’s stats. HTTP 402, a signed payment, an answer. No account, no API key, no monthly plan for a robot that only needs one nudge.
Everything the pet earns, from skins to server passes to x402 calls, goes into buying $MUSHROOM off the market and burning it. The supply falls every time somebody puts a new hat on their mushroom, and it falls fastest during the work week, which is exactly when the pet is being used.
The Founder Spore skin is minted once, for the first 1,000 wallets that hold through launch week, and is never sold again. There is no way to buy it later at any price. It is the only thing in Mushroom that money cannot decide for you.
No presale, no seed round, no whitelist to beg into. The pet has paid for itself for two years on its own revenue, which is why the coin can launch fair: the product does not need your money, it needs your desk. That is the whole reason to be early.
Own it, do not rent it
One number, one coin, one transfer. Hold it and the app is yours, including everything it learns to do later. Try it free first if you would rather.
Agents can skip the license entirely: point Claude Code, Codex or your own bot at the pet’s x402 endpoint and pay a fraction of a cent per nudge instead. That is what x402 is for ›
Linux instead? Get told when it ships.

No whitelist, no form to fill, no email to hand over. When $MUSHROOM goes live on Solana the contract address is posted here and on @mushroom at the same moment, and that is the only address that will ever be real.
Before you download
No. A timer fires on a schedule whether or not you are there. Mushroom reads how long it has been since you last touched the keyboard, so it knows the difference between you working through lunch and you being at lunch. It waits.
250,000 $MUSHROOM, once, and the app is yours on up to five machines with every future version included. There is no dollar price and no card on this site: the license is a balance in a wallet you control, so you can sell it on the day you stop needing a pet to tell you to drink water.
Your reminders, notes, chats and stats never leave your Mac. The chat runs on a language model on the machine itself, unless you choose to point it at a server of your own, which is off unless you turn it on. Two optional features, messages to friends and files you share, go through a server, and both are encrypted before they leave and can be run on your own server instead. The license check reads a public Solana balance, not your data.
Yes, 7 days with no wallet, no account and no card. Long enough to find out whether a pixel mushroom can actually get you to stand up.
Up to 5 devices: Macs and Windows PCs together, all pointing at the same wallet. If the network is down the app keeps working, because a pet that locks you out over a bad connection is worse than no pet at all.
